What is AAC?

A lightweight, eco-friendly, high-insulating building product

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is a lightweight, eco-friendly, high insulating, durable building product, produced in a wide range of sizes and strengths. AAC offers incredible opportunities to increase building quality while reducing costs at the construction site.

AAC was perfected in the mid-1920s by the Swedish architect and inventor Dr. Johan Axel Eriksson, working with Professor Henrik Kreüger at the Royal Institute of Technology.

AAC's cellular structure keeps each block roughly a third of the weight of a solid clay brick of the same size — without giving up the compressive strength construction needs. Less weight on site means easier handling, faster laying, and less strain on the structure itself.
